Traumwelten
Kunstverein Nördlingen e.V. presents "Traumwelten" as a dialogue between two artistic idioms that interrogate dream, myth and reality from different directions.
Michael Maschka, born in Augsburg and now working in Nördlingen, connects to the tradition of the fantastic and the old masters. His painting combines precise craftsmanship with mythological, Christian and alchemical worlds of signs and seeks correspondences between inner and outer images.
Diana Ham, born in Mexico City and likewise based in Nördlingen, develops hyperreal, luminous pictorial spaces from autobiographical, social and mythic motifs. Her work combines personal catharsis, urban myth, mysticism and black comedy with a direct, emotional visual language.
The exhibition takes place in the Alte Schranne in Nördlingen. There, Kunstverein Nördlingen creates a framework in which contemporary positions, local rootedness and intense encounters with images come together.
